Sold To Merge Field

Edited
  1. Feature Overview

The Sold To Merge Field expands Confirmation Page Templates to include Sold To fields alongside existing Bill To fields. This ensures confirmation pages can clearly display both the billing contact (Bill To) and the recipient of the product or service (Sold To).

At a high level, administrators can now drop Sold To merge fields directly into templates, and the system automatically pulls the correct customer data — making confirmation pages more accurate and transparent.

  1. Business Value

Many businesses face confusion when the person or entity paying is not the same as the one receiving the product or service. By introducing Sold To fields, confirmation pages eliminate this ambiguity.

  • Revenue impact: Clearer communication reduces billing disputes and delivery errors.

  • Efficiency: Fewer customer support inquiries about “who is this for” or “why is my name not showing.”

  • Prospect appeal: Demonstrates a polished, enterprise-grade experience that inspires confidence during the buying process.

  • Default Behavior: Existing templates remain unchanged if Sold To fields are not added.

  • Dynamic Behavior: When included, Sold To fields automatically populate with customer data at checkout and confirmation.

  1. Why It Matters

This feature removes a common point of confusion and elevates the professionalism of the subscription experience. By clearly distinguishing between the payer and recipient, businesses show prospects they understand complex buying scenarios — driving trust, satisfaction, and long-term loyalty.
