Enabling Zuora Orders or Amendments in PeakCommerce

PeakCommerce provides flexibility to customers using Zuora by supporting both Zuora Orders and Zuora Amendments. Depending on your organization's needs, you can choose to enable either option. Some Zuora customers may have not yet migrated to the Orders functionality and wish to continue using the Amendments model. This guide walks through what each option entails and how to configure the desired setting in PeakCommerce.

Zuora Orders is a more recent way to manage changes to subscriptions in Zuora. It consolidates the complexities of various subscription modifications—such as changing products, quantities, and terms—into a single "order" action. The benefits of using Orders include:

• Better Tracking: Orders provide comprehensive change tracking across a subscription lifecycle.

• Enhanced Functionality: Orders Harmonization allows seamless upgrades, downgrades, and term adjustments with a focus on simplicity and unified data.

Zuora Amendments is the traditional approach that allows users to manage changes to subscriptions through distinct amendment types (e.g., renewal, cancellation, change product). This model is widely used by existing customers who haven't transitioned to the Orders model and prefer to keep the amendment-based structure.

PeakCommerce allows customers to use either the Orders model or the Amendments model based on their business requirements. The default setting will vary based on your Zuora account configuration; however, with help from PeakCommerce support, we can easily change this setting through the PeakCommerce administrative interface.

Once these changes are saved, PeakCommerce will automatically align your subscription management processes according to your selected model. Any updates will reflect immediately, and users in your organization can begin operating in either the Orders or Amendments paradigm based on your selection.

Please note: The enablement or disablement of Zuora Orders functionality in PeakCommerce can only be set by a PeakCommerce support team member. It is currently not available for system administrators.
